A new appointment for UNOCO
Nottingham-based learning and development specialists the UNOCO Group have appointed Robin Peak to lead the business development of their training division, Network Learning Centres Ltd.
Robin’s main responsibilities will include developing new business opportunities in employer led training and development in partnership with further education colleges and other training organisations, regionally, nationally and even internationally. He will also extend UNOCO's involvement in Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships.
Prior to UNOCO, Robin worked at Lincoln College as their Director of Business Development. He remains there in a part-time role, and was a key player in the UNOCO link to Lincoln College earlier this year. The partnership is concentrating on training in employer premises in order to help employers overcome skills shortages of adults in the workforce, using funding from the new Train to Gain service being offered in the region.
Using his 31 years experience in the education and training sector, Robin plans to develop more of these types of links. He is currently developing business opportunities in China and has visited the country a number of times on recruitment and promotional initiatives. This is an area Robin particularly enjoys:
"I am looking forward to securing new partnerships with colleges and other training organisations," he said. "It is very fulfilling to work on the development of a unique model of learning organisation, such as UNOCO. They combine the best aspects of colleges and private training providers to better meet the needs of employers."
Ted Stanley, CEO of UNOCO said, "We are delighted to have Robin on board and will benefit from his considerable experience and expertise to drive forward our development plans."
